Addiction comes when you least expect it. You just find something nice and soothing to calm you. Addiction has a nice feeling to it. And then you start craving it. You feel like you need it, like you can't live without it. And when you get it, it's the best feeling in the world. It almost fulfills your deep hunger for it. And it's taken from you because it's too much for you. You can't handle it any more. And when you realize why you can't have it, It hits you. Because addiction really means... Awful Decisions Discouraging Imagination Creating Terror Initiating Obvious Negligence Through the school hall we walk, We hear bustle and talk. The people we see everyday are the same, But we don’t that kid or that kid’s name. We don’t know the struggles they must face, Or how hard it may be to keep up with the pace. We don’t know what happens to them after they walk out the door, We don’t know the pain they endure. We glance at each other sometimes smiling and sometimes not, Without knowing the battles that we have fought. You want to speak to this individual and tell him/her how you feel but you can only compose your thoughts in rhymes about food. Write a scene, a letter, or a poem that expresses your emotions about the person remembering you can only express yourself with rhymes and descriptions of food. The results: Crispy tater tots by J Powers (click title to read) from Thanks a latte for your thyme by S Ratliff It took me a lot of thyme to mustard up the courage to write... I think you're grate. You had me at merlot... I want to shower you with quiches... If you were a fruit, you'd be a fineapple, and if you were a vegetable, you'd be a cutecumber. I have fillings for you and think we'd make quite a pear... Thanks a latte for your time, but peas don't go raisin my hopes. I promise I won't be salty if you don't carrot all. Don't go bacon my heart... It isn't a big dill if you don't feel the same. Penne for your thoughts? |
